Ideas
I started to formulate the ideas I had for this project on paper and came up with a game in which the player commands a vessel in space which can ram other ships. I remember playing a game called Space Pirates and Zombies 2, in which you can build your own ship with a number of different parts, each off which has their own stats and bonuses across a wide range of attributes. I had the most fun with a minor gameplay imbalance that made it possible to equip your ship in a way that allowed you to ram and destroy pretty much any enemy vessel. Even though this strategy was overpowered, it was still fun to ram your enemies at their weak points.
Thus I decided to make a game which is centred around this gameplay aspect. Apart from ramming vessels, it will also be possible to use some kind of projectile to interact with enemy ship parts.
Apart from this, all ships apart from the player will be made up of different parts that can be destroyed or captured individually.
Next week, I will start making the player vessel and perhaps the first ship parts.
